Very pleased with purchase so far (only had it a short while) after reading other reviews I kept it away from the shower head. It has stayed up and works a treat. Good fun trying to beat the timer. Delivery was on time. (Posted on 07/12/2014)
Easy to use - good value Review by Nigel - Smart Green Shop

The duck shower timer has recently been re-branded. Previously sold as "Ecosaver", but now re-branded as "POWERplus". It is essentially the same except the logo on the front has gone, and a small improvement is the suction pad is quite a bit larger.
It arrives in a small presentation box and instructions in 11 languages are included. Before using a small plastic tab has to be removed to activate the battery.
Using the duck shower timer is simple. There are 3 buttons on the front M (minutes), S (seconds) & ST/SP (start& stop). It can either count up like a stop watch; or count down if you wish to set a specific time for a shower.
To count up simply press the "ST/SP" to start the timer and then again to stop the timer. The amount of time spent in the shower will be on the LCD display. To reset to zero press the "M" & "S" buttons at the same time.
To count down a shower from a set time, First set the time for the shower by pressing the "M" and "S" buttons until the display shows the desired time. Then press the "ST/SP" button to start the count down. When the time has run out an beeping alarm will sound. Pressing any button will stop the alarm, and pressing "ST/SP" will take you back to your preset shower time. The "ST/SP" can also be used to pause the timer during a shower.
Any drawbacks? I would describe the shower timer as water resistant rather than water proof, so position the timer away from the direct shower spray. If it does get saturated sometimes it will stop working (not always), it will however usually be fine if left in a warm dry place to dry out.

Made a real difference to the gas bill Review by dog norflk

Yup, just set the duck off, and you'll soon start to gain an awareness as to where the gas bill money is being spent.

You can set the Duck to count upwards if you're just curious as to how long you've been in the shower for, or use it like an egg-timer and have it count down and beep to tell you to get out of the shower after 15 mins, rinse out the hair dye after 5 mins, or whatever.

It may sound really silly, simple and pointless, but like I say, it's really helped me manage my energy usage. (Posted on 12/05/2012)
Love the Duck hate the hook Review by Alison

The duck contains a simple countdown timer which is all that you need to initiate "shorter shower" competitions. We are already down to 2 minutes 45 seconds, and getting lower, without skimping on cleanliness. It's a really great idea for getting the whole household enthusiastic about water saving.

However, and it's a big however, the duck is held up by a very small suction device. I have others in the bathroom that work well, but this one keeps on jettisoning the duck to the floor tiles. Since the duck is hard plastic, he's not long for this planet.
There's a second however, and that is that the instructions tell you not to spray water directly on the duck. It's a race against time whether over exhuberent showering or a catastrophic fall will get him first. (Posted on 12/05/2012)
Quack Quack Review by PBARKER

I wanted something that I could use to ensure the children, and the rest of family would save water when using the shower.. This is a nice little toy for it.. The only downside, which isn't really a downside but as I am fastidious about gadgets and how they should work, I would like to have had a lock mode in that the time is set and then it cannot be changed.. (children are very good at finding out how things work, and they very often change the timer to suit the time in the shower....i.e. up from 2 minutes to 4 minutes). Other than this, it is a good sensible price and it does what it is supposed to do.. encourage the whole family to consider the length of time they spend in the shower.. (Posted on 12/05/2012)
