About Smart Green Shop
The SmartGreenShop was founded by Nigel & Caroline Blake in 2008 as a web site selling energy saving products to householders. In addition to the web site we also attend "Green Fairs" and larger Trading Fairs. In 2011 we were shortlisted for a Business Accelerator's award and we are now working with other businesses, particularly in the Bury St Edmunds area, to assist them in saving energy themselves and to influence their own customers in a positive way.
The ethos of our company encompasses the idea that saving energy, not only makes ecological sense, but also actually makes sound financial sense. By making our customers aware of these benefits, we hope they will encouraged to embrace a more environmentally friendly and ethical lifestyle.
People used to think that to save the planet you had to pay the earth, or that being green meant considering the fate of the rainforest, but not really your own bank account. Times have certainly changed! The credit crunch and rising costs have forced us all to think about environmental issues in a new way. We want to drastically cut our fuel bills, save money and look after the world.We all need to become more aware of how we can unwittingly waste energy in our own homes. To give you an example of what we mean - here is a thought to consider. Quite rightly, people are concerned about diesel and petrol prices and would not contemplate wasting fuel, even worse let it leak away! However, if a typical family uses £80.00 of electricity per month, it is almost certain that £20.00 of their bill is due to wasted electricity. That is equivalent to approximately 4 gallons of petrol. If your car had a fuel leak and lost 1 gallon per week, would you leave it or get it fixed?
We at Smart Green will show you how to be smart (save money) and be green (leave something for the grand-kids).
